10/4/17 — Dominic Dipersia
We’re now one full month into our Fall Sports season. The Varsity Field Hockey team is off to a fast start this season (5-1, 4-0 EIL), thanks in part to great netminding by Malea Troy’ 21 and top goal scorers Andrea Marguerite ’20 and Co-Captain Riley Burns ’18. Varsity Girls Soccer has rattled off three straight wins with great performances from forward Kaya Dorogi ’20, who has 10 goals and two hat-tricks so far this season! Boys Varsity Soccer continues to improve and develop their young core players. Daniel Freedman ’20 has played exceptionally well in net, with highlights including a 14-save shutout of Williams School and a 21-save performance versus Berwick. The Varsity Golf team has picked up wins against LCA and Berwick this season, with consistent play from Jack Boyd ’19 and Captain Jacob McAllister ’18 at the top two spots. Sisters Page Cassidy ‘20 and Bridgette Cassidy ‘23 have finished in the top three in each of their races so far this season for the Girls Cross Country team, while Ibby Ayyash ’19 and Captain Phil Onffroy ’18 consistently finish as the top runners for Boys Cross Country. The Varsity Volleyball team has started to find their form, winning three straight matches with outstanding play from Co-Captain Eve Phillips ’18!
The Fall Season rolls on with our 9th Annual Play4TheCure event, which we will celebrate during the month of October. Come out and support the Bulldogs and a great cause! And don’t forget to follow Bulldog Athletics on Twitter @SportsBancroft for highlights and scores. GO BULLDOGS!

As the Winter sports season comes to an end this weekend, we take pride in many victories — some personal, some collective, some reflected on the scoreboard, others reflected in the confidence and growth of our student-athletes.
At the time of this writing, our Varsity Boys Basketball team is still in it to win it, with co-captains Emmanuel B. (recently named EIL Co-Player of the Year) and Anthony M. (recently named EIL All-League) leading the way! The team finished the regular season strong, and qualified for the NEPSAC Class D Tournament as the #3 seed! They have advanced to the Semifinals and will compete March 4th against #2 Wooster School for a chance to return to the Championship game!
The Girls' Basketball program was rejuvenated this season and went 11-4! We're excited to see the program building momentum for the future.
The Varsity Alpine Ski Team finished their season with Kaya D. (’20) taking 5th in Giant Slalom and 3rd in Slalom at the NEPSAC Class C Championships, and 5th overall in the CMSL regular season!
The Varsity Swim Team had a very successful day at the EIL Championships, where all swimmers PR'd and three swimmers placed: Jonah K. ('22) – 8th in 100Back; Tyler P. ('19) – 4th in 200IM; and Dima Z. ('20) – 6th in 100Fly and 3rd in 100Back! They will be competing at the NEPSAC Div 3 Swimming Championships March 4th.
The Middle School ‘A’ Basketball Teams competed again in the Park School Hoopfest, with the Girls’ 'A' Team receiving the team Sportsmanship Award!
Great season for all of our Bulldog student-athletes!
