Located in Worcester, MA, Bancroft School is an independent, non-sectarian, college-preparatory school for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. Founded in 1900, Bancroft provides a superior education for students with diverse backgrounds and talents, and develops responsible, ethical, lifelong learners.

The Assistant College Counselor works in close partnership with the Director of College Counseling and teachers to create and monitor a proactive, student-centered, and positive approach to College Counseling centered around timely and effective communication with all constituents.  The Assistant College Counselor will manage a newly designed College Counseling office and support the Director of College Counseling in all elements of the college admissions process as well as coordinating AP and PSAT testing. This position is an academic year position plus three summer weeks and includes some evening and weekend responsibilities.

The Assistant College Counselor must be able to assume varied roles and to multitask in a fast-paced work environment surrounded by students. A bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of 1 to 3 years of experience with college counseling, admission, marketing, teaching and/or coaching for secondary or post-secondary educational institutions is required. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication, collaborative, leadership, and organizational skills as well as a strong work ethic, initiative, and deep commitment to student growth and development. Priority may be given to candidates with experience using Naviance or similar college admissions software.
