Nicholas Conroy '18 & Jonathan Conroy '18 Selected as Presidential Scholar Candidates
Posted 02/21/2018 11:13AM

Nicholas & Jonathan ConroyBancroft is proud to announce that seniors Jonathan Conroy and Nicholas Conroy have both been selected as candidates for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program — one of the nation's highest honors for high school students! Their candidacy is based on outstanding performance on the college admission ACT tests; both earned the highest possible composite scores (36). These two young scholars' accomplishments extend far beyond test-taking! Both are enrolled in the Ms. Vanderspek and Mrs. Heinricher's highly advanced Multivariable Calculus class, and both compete with our Varsity Math Team in the Worcester County Math League (WOCOMAL) meets. Jonathan is a member of Team 2442-C, one of our championship VEX Robotics Teams that recently won a design award. Nicholas has advanced from Semifinalist to Finalist status in the National Merit Scholarship Program, and Jonathan was a Commended Student. And outside of school, the brothers compete on a national level in Saber Fencing!

In the Presidential Scholars Program, Nicholas and Jonathan are among only 4,500 students nationwide who were identified for academic achievement. Of those, 600 will be named semifinalists, and up to 161 students will ultimately be named Presidential Scholars.

We congratulate Jonathan and Nicholas on this incredible honor, and wish them the best of luck in advancing their candidacy.
