Posted 11/15/2017 09:29AM

Jack Boyd After finishing the regular season with a record of 10-1-1 — the best record in the league out of all the golfers at the No 1 spot — junior Jack Boyd was named the EIL Player of the Year for Varsity Golf. He becomes just the third golfer from Bancroft School to win the league honor, and the first to win since Eric Tankanow did so in 2006! (Michael Montuori in 1995 was the first). Jack accepted the honor at the league championship on November 7th at Carnegie Abbey in Portsmouth, RI.

“It means a lot,” Jack said, about winning the award. “I really put in the work over the summer, and it finally paid off.” Bancroft Varsity Golf Coach Mark O’Brien also saw the results of Jack’s work. “He was playing at a completely different level from previous season. I’m extremely proud of his approach to the game, and his drive to get better moving forward.”

The Bancroft Golf team finished 5-6-1 on the season.
