BookFlix is a Kindergarten through third grade online literacy resource that pairs classic video storybooks from Weston Woods with related nonfiction from Children's Press and other trusted Scholastic imprints.  In addition, it also offers games, author profiles, Internet links, and Spanish-Language versions of many titles.

Epic! is an online children's book service, offering thousands of high-quality books for children ages 12 and under.  Books on Epic! can be personalized for each individual reader.  It provides kids with a personal library they can take anywhere since it is available on the Web, on iOS devices, and Android devices.
FreedomFlix brings history to life by capturing the dramatic and defining moments in American history.  It features dynamic e-books of the Children's Press best-selling Cornerstones of Freedom series that include embedded popup features such as maps, timelines, virtual tour clips, primary source videos and audio clips. 
ScienceFlix is a highly engaging digital resource that offers students an in-depth examination of more than 30 subject areas.  This database provides curriculum-driven content that supports Next Generation Science Standards through a variety of multimedia platforms that encourage student participation, experimentation, and critical thinking.
TrueFLIX is for students in grades three to five.  It provides access to the eBook versions of Scholastic's nonfiction True Books series that cover many common science and social studies topics. 
OverDrive provides the Bancroft community with recreational eBooks.  This link will showcase the eBooks available for Lower School students.  These eBooks can be read on your computer, or any mobile device such as an iPad.


Biography in Context is a database that offers contextual information on the world's most influential people. It allows users to search for people based on name, occupation, nationality, ethnicity, birth/death dates and places, or gender as well as keyword and full text. 
Enchanted Learning produces K-12 educational material that is published online. It has over 25,000 pages on its web site covering a wide range of topics such as geography/history, physical sciences, language, fiction, writing, and biology.

Image Quest provides access to two million rights-cleared images from over 50 of the best collections in the world such as DK Images, Getty Images, the National Portrait Gallery of London, the National Geographic Society, and Oxford Scientific. 
NoveList K-8 Plus is a database about books specifically for younger readers.  It helps kids find books that are just for their reading level and interests.  It has reading recommendations for both fiction and nonfiction, for kids in grades K-8.
Research in Context is created specifically for middle-schoolers.  It combines Gale's reference content with age-appropriate videos, newspapers, magazines, primary sources, and much more to provide support to complete assignments in core subjects including literature, science, social studies, and history. 


Collins COBUILD Advanced Dictionary of English promotes learning through Definitions PLUS:  Full-sentence definitions that use the most common context in which target words are found in real life; Grammatical patterns shown in context help the learner to use English accurately and naturally; Natural English examples show the user words as they appear in everyday English.
Britannica Elementary School Edition searches Britannica Elementary Encyclopedia which has been created especially for readers at the elementary school level. Thousands of shorter articles cover subjects for school and fun, from nations of the world to animals and sports.
Britannica Escolar Online (K-8) provides a Spanish Elementary Encyclopedia with 2,000 articles, images, Spanish-language videos, and Spanish Learning Materials specifically designed for younger students. Offered through Encyclopedia Britannica. 


Fact Fragment Frenzy aids students in grades 3 -5 learn the importance of finding the words in sentences and paragraphs that contain the facts they need for compiling their research.  They practice by pulling important words from a text over to a virtual notebook.  The students then move to putting those notes into their own words, avoiding plagiarism.
NoodleTools is a web-based bibliography composer that is combined with a note-taking software.  NoodleTools supports MLA, APA and Chicago/Turabian style.


Kids InfoBits is a database designed especially for students in kindergarten through grade five. It has an engaging, developmentally appropriate graphic interface, that contains premier reference content and magazines for elementary students.  It addresses the way kids learn and conduct research.
