MS Community Service

At Bancroft, we embrace the opportunity to serve our larger community and provide students a variety of community service options over the course of their Middle School career. Along with teachers and parent volunteers, all students devote at least nine hours each year to community service in a small, mixed-grade group at one of many local agencies.

Community service opportunities range from working outside to help maintain and preserve protected wildlife areas, to connecting with residents in nursing homes, volunteering at a food bank, or working with young children at a local partner school.

Student Comments

"It was a brilliant way for all if the students to learn about the environment and the animals in it."
— 8th Grade Student

"It is really amazing to build connections with the kids. It was a wonderful experience for me and the kids I met."
— 8th Grade Student

"Even through the small ways we were able to help [at the Food Bank], I know that we made a difference. Just by packaging food we were able to take that burden off the hands of someone else, and someone who needs food will be thankful."
— 7th Grade Student
