![]() December 2019 Newsletter Dear Bancroft Friends,
With the second semester underway and the school year now in full swing, I wanted to provide some exciting updates on our strategic planning work, thank you for your participation thus far, and invite you to continue to join us as we enter the most important phase: Delivering on the plan's promises.
The goal of our collective work has always been to establish a set of priorities and initiatives for the next five years that are grounded in our mission, core values, history, and culture. Throughout this process, we have taken important steps to ensure that we heard the voices of our entire extended community and also provided ourselves with the necessary resources to succeed as we reached the final stages of our Out In Front capital campaign.
Now, we are excited to share the results of this work with our new strategic plan entitled 'BLUEprint125' and welcome you to be an important part of delivering on these commitments. This plan helps to reinforce our cornerstones of shared community, active learning & teaching, and collaborative innovation and will help us build for another 125 years of Educational Leadership. I will be unveiling this plan at the annual 'State of The School' address this week and hope you can attend and see the strong course that has been set for Bancroft's future.
Developing a strategic plan is a project that requires investment from an entire community. Living out that plan does as well. Bancroft has stood the test of time because of people like you that care deeply about providing a meaningful experience for students. I know this work will propel Bancroft forward as a leader in innovative education. I look forward to seeing you this week.
Best,

WELCOME BACK 𝓦𝓮 ❤️𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮❤️ 𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓪𝓵𝓾𝓶𝓷𝓲! Young Alumni from colleges far and wide came back to Bancroft over winter break to see friends and faculty, speak to current students about what their life has been like post-Bancroft, and play in the annual Alumni World Cup! Our Bancroft graduates are accomplishing amazing things in college and beyond, but they'll always be Bulldogs. 🐾
Middle School spirit was on full display last week, as both the Boys and Girls teams played in front of a capacity crowd and brought home big wins over Applewild School at the annual Basketball Social! The Pep Band kept fans entertained during timeouts and halftime, and before the Girls game the crowd was treated to an exceptional rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner courtesy of Natalie Kakule, Elyse McManus, Caroline Belanger, Sophia Gendron, and Skylar Boisvert. Congratulations to the Middle School Student Council on a great event! Click the video above to see highlights.
THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND Dressed in vintage clothing and with Statue of Liberty looking on, members of Halley Allen's 3rd grade class traveled back in time to Ellis Island. As part of their curriculum on immigration, each student was given the identity of a traveler and learned about the process of entering the United States. Mock inspectors provided tests on cognitive ability, health and wellness, and general immigration questions. Click the video above to see highlights.
