Dear Bancroft Community,
The countdown is officially underway as we have reached the final few days of summer vacation. It has been fun to see teachers back on campus preparing classrooms for active learning. I hope your students are excited to be back on Shore Drive with their classmates. To our new families, welcome! We are excited to have you and know you will soon feel right at home at Bancroft.
Last week, you heard from members of our community including Nikkole Conway, our Director of Auxiliary Programs, who shared information on our Aftercare options for this year - as well as Garth Adams, our Athletic Director, who shared details of our fall athletics season for Middle and Upper School student athletes. I hope many of you will take advantage of these opportunities for engaging activities after school.
You have also grade specific information for the start of the school year. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your Division Head if you have any questions.
Updated Protocols This week, I am happy to share our updated health and safety protocols for the start of the school year. Working closely with our School Nurse Liza Marzilli and our consultant epidemiologists from Fusion Cell, we feel confident that our mitigation efforts will keep our community safe while on campus. As with last year, we will continue to be flexible and adjust as needed based on the latest information available to us with the wellbeing and health of our community as our most important priority. Any changes to these policies will be communicated right away. A full description of these mitigation layers are available with the link below, but the general points of emphasis are:
As a reminder, if you have yet to submit required health forms outlined in this July email, please complete and submit them to our School Nurse this week.
Included in our protocols is information regarding school administered COVID-19 testing. We have been carefully reviewing our COVID-19 testing options and are working with the state Department of Health on a testing plan. Once we have a finalized plan, we will share it in its entirety. To ensure we are ready to begin testing as soon as it is necessary, we are asking all students, faculty, and staff to complete this consent form in advance. This will be helpful in the event we need to implement testing quickly.
Lunch Program Registration Information We will once again be partnering with Creeden & Co. to offer our boxed lunch program. Sign-up, registration, and menu ordering is done through EZ School Apps. Meals are $5.50 per day with supplemental items available for purchase. Ordering reminders and menus will be sent to registered families. Click here for instructions on how to register. Questions regarding Creedon & Co. boxed lunch program can be directed to bancroftdining@creedonandco.com.
Thank You This year will likely challenge our collective resolve as we slowly work our way back to a more normal modality. Given our perseverance throughout this pandemic thus far, I am confident that we will continue to work together and show just how capable this community truly is. As always, we appreciate your partnership and support and look forward to being together again with everyone soon.
Best, Trey Cassidy Head of School |
