Dear Bancroft Community,
As we inch closer to the end of July, planning continues to progress for the start of school here at Bancroft. Earlier this week, you received several important emails from us that included general forms we ask families to complete every summer as well as specific health center forms. Please let us know if you did not receive these communications. We appreciate your promptness with getting these forms completed.
I am also excited to share that we have hired some very talented and capable individuals to join our staff for the 2021-22 school year.
Erin Coyne - School Counselor Erin joins Bancroft from Ashburnham Westminster Public Schools where she served as the Guidance / Adjustment Counselor since 2017. Erin has eight years of experience supporting students and families within a school setting. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Worcester State and Master of Counseling from Assumption College. We are pleased to be adding Erin's expertise to our team and know she will be a great resource for our community.
Jasmine Vasquez-Okutoro - Lower/Middle School Administrative Assistant Jasmine arrives at Bancroft after a 12 year run down the street with the Greater Worcester Community Foundation where she handled a variety of different programming and grant management. She also has an array of experience in customer service and administrative and secretarial support. Jasmine is replacing Catherine Hanssen who will now serve as the Executive Assistant to the Head of School. Please join me in welcoming Jasmine to Bancroft.
Nikkole Conway - Director of Auxiliary / Summer Programs Nikkole Conway recently started as our new Director of Auxiliary / Summer Programs. She is currently transitioning into the role and learning alongside her predecessor, Carrie Whitney, who will be returning to the classroom as an Upper School Science and Academic Support teacher this fall. She joins Bancroft from The Haven Country Club in Boylston where she served as the Summer Program Director since 2016. Under Nikkole's guidance, The Haven's programming saw a 40% increase in total enrollment. We are excited to have Nikkole on board.
Garth Adams - Director of Athletics Garth Adams joins Bulldog Nation by way of Hartford, Connecticut where he served as the Chief Program Officer for Hartford Youth Scholars since 2013. He brings 19 years of experience as an Athletic Director to Bancroft including a 12 year run at Kingswood Oxford School in West Hartford and a six year stint at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida. Under Garth's leadership, his schools have won 24 state championship titles and eight national championships. We are looking forward to Garth's leadership of Bulldog Athletics.
Susie Horan - Director of Enrollment Management Susie Horan is our new Director of Enrollment Management and comes to Bancroft after eight years at Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall as the Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Financial Aid. At Chapel Hill, she had direct oversight over the school's need-based financial aid and merit based scholarships as Chair of the Financial Aid Committee / Net Tuition Revenue Task Force. Susie is no stranger to Worcester as she attended school at the College of the Holy Cross where she served as the Varsity Field Hockey Captain. She would later become the Assistant Field Hockey Coach for the Crusaders for three seasons before joining the independent school world. We are excited to have Susie with us at Bancroft.
Sarah Hope - Assistant Director of Admission for Lower/Middle School Sarah's name should be familiar to many Middle School families as she joined us last year as an Assistant Teacher for grades six to eight. Prior to Bancroft, Sarah served as an Assistant Basketball Coach at Boston University and College of the Holy Cross. Sarah also graduated from Boston University and played four seasons of varsity basketball, the last two as Captain of the Terriers. We are thrilled to have Sarah transition into this role.
Please join me in welcoming the newest additions to the Bancroft School staff. These individuals showed a strong commitment to our mission, vision, and values throughout the interview process and will quickly become valued members of our community. We are also still in the midst of hiring for a few teaching positions and will provide an update on our summer additions to the faculty soon.
More information regarding details of our reopening for the 2021-22 school year will be coming in early August so please continue to check for updates. Thank you again for your continued partnership.
Best,
Trey Cassidy |
