Dear Bancroft Community,
Bancroft has partnered with OccuMed New England to administer baseline PCR nasal swab testing that will be conducted on campus on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. It is important to note the following about this testing:
- All Bancroft faculty, staff, and students are required to be tested to be able to attend school in-person, even those that have been vaccinated.
- This is surveillance testing and anyone exhibiting symptoms should NOT participate, should consult their primary care physician, and notify the school nurse. *Anyone that has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days should not participate. Please contact the school nurse if this applies to you.
- If you have traveled out of Massachusetts over Spring Break, please complete the mandated testing/quarantine for travel, as described in the state's travel guidelines, before returning to campus — including for testing on Tuesday, March 30.
- All tests will be conducted on campus from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM in the Fletcher Athletic Center gymnasium. (CLICK HERE FOR DIRECTIONS)
- You must sign up for a time slot to receive a test. CLICK HERE to reserve a time slot.
- Testing procedures should take approximately 30 minutes. Please arrive as close to your scheduled time slot as possible.
- If you were tested at the 1/29/21 event you filled out a consent form and it does not need to be filled out again. However if you were not tested last time, please complete the CONSENT FORM. It must be signed by a parent/guardian if the individual being tested is not 18 or older.
- Parents/Guardians may accompany their children to the test.
- If a parent or guardian will not be present, they must sign the consent form above prior to their student's test.
- All individuals receiving a test should blow their nose at least one hour before their test is conducted. This is a low nasal swab test.
- Masks must be worn at all times except when instructed by a testing administrator.
- Social distancing must be observed while waiting in line.
Negative test results will be available within 48 hours via a HIPAA/FERPA compliant secure website portal run by OccuMed. Look for an email from CareEvolve@lknotification.com (Check your spam). All students and faculty with confirmed negative tests will receive the above email and can return to school on April 1. Should anyone test positive, our school nurse will inform parents/guardians directly and discuss return to school expectations. The State Department of Public Health (DPH) contact tracing organization will also be in touch as all positive test results are automatically reported to the DPH. If you had trouble accessing your results last time or if you have any trouble viewing your new results, please contact school nurse, Liza Marzilli.
We appreciate your cooperation as we add this additional layer to help us limit the spread of the virus within our community and return to learning on campus after Spring Break. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact school nurse Liza Marzilli. We look forward to seeing everyone back on campus for engaged and active learning on Thursday, April 1.
Best,
Trey
