Celebrating 125 years

Launch Event
The celebration will kick off during the school’s opening assembly on September 4th. Current students, faculty, and staff will receive commemorative t-shirts, and an all-school photo will be taken. A unique 'Flat Spike' project will be introduced, featuring a cutout of Spike, the beloved Bulldog mascot. This initiative encourages participants to visit alumni-owned businesses and Bancroft landmarks throughout Worcester. Alumni will also receive a version of Flat Spike, allowing them to join in the fun by sending their flat Spike around the world to alumni connections. The flat Spikes will reconvene on campus during reunion weekend.

Homecoming 2024
On September 21st, Bancroft School will host a Homecoming event featuring a friendly softball game between young alumni and former/current faculty and staff. The day will include a 1.25-mile fun run competition through Bancroft’s campus, traditional varsity team games, a cookout, inflatables, games, and prizes for all community members.

Annual Charlie A. Basketball Tournament & Fall Drama Production
The annual Charlie A. Basketball tournament and the fall drama production will take place on December 13th & 14th. All current community members, alumni, and past faculty & staff are invited to attend. The event will feature an alumni food showcase, highlighting local alumni businesses.

Musical Production & Theater Reunion
From March 6th to 8th, the school’s annual Upper School musical production will be open to all alumni and community members. This celebration will also include a reunion for past theater students and faculty.

Earth Day Community Service
During the week of April 22nd, the Bancroft community, including alumni, will be invited to participate in Earth Day activities. The goal is to complete at least 125 acts of community service across 125 zip codes.

Reunion Weekend & Gala Event
The anniversary celebrations will culminate during the annual reunion weekend from May 16th to 17th, featuring the 125th Gala Event in the Bancroft School Field House. The weekend will include a dinner celebration, alumni awards ceremony, alumni art show, and silent auction. The school will also launch the Bancroft School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Special Commemorative Items
As part of the anniversary, Bancroft School will release a picture book titled 'Bancroft School – 125 Years in Photos,' showcasing its history by decade, including its previous locations in Worcester. Commemorative 125th-anniversary apparel will be also available for purchase through Bancroft’s online store and in the school’s bookstore on campus.
