Summer Camp Employment 2013

Position: Music Activity  Specialist

Reports to Camp Director and Summer Program Director

Job Requirement: Specialist should have skills and/or certification, experience in their area. Specialists must have prior experience working with children, as well as the desire to work with a variety of ages of children.

Must be able to demonstrate leadership ability, effective communication skills, and responsible judgment as well as have the ability to be a self-starter.

Music Specialist must have background in children's songs, camp songs, and be able to play musical instruments, and lead activites.
Spirit, Energy, Creativity and Enthusiasm is a must for this position!

Dates: June 17 - August 2
Hours: 8:30 am  - 3:45 pm Mon. - Fri.

The Hope Graham Program at
Bancroft School

POSITION: Teacher

Bancroft School, an independent day school located in Worcester, MA, with approximately 500 students from 60 communities, is establishing the Hope Graham Program.

The Hope Graham Program at Bancroft School, designed to meet the needs of students with language-based learning differences beginning the fall of 2013, seeks an experienced and well-qualified elementary teacher with a passion for working with diverse learners. Applicants must have a Master's Degree in Reading, Literacy, and/or Special Education. A strong classroom teaching or tutoring background with experience in developing an individualized curriculum is required.

Knowledge of multi-sensory approaches such as Orton-Gillingham, and other methodologies proven to be successful with LBLD learners as well as a familiarity with neuropsychological evaluations is needed. Interested candidates must be willing to pursue continuing professional development courses during the summer of 2013.

Part-Time Middle School Academic Support Coordinator

Bancroft School, an independent day school with 500 students located in Worcester Mass., seeks an Academic Support Coordinator for the Middle School. The position will be part time in the afternoons. The successful candidate will have a BA and experience working with Middle School students who have learning differences. Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, leading the Student Support Team meetings, supporting identified students during the study hall period, maintaining internal records and communicating with teachers, tutors, and parents. The Academic Support Coordinator reports to the Head of Middle School and the Director of Academic Support. The candidate must possess the energy and sense of humor to thrive in a Middle School where the needs and interests of the students are always placed first.

Upper School History Teacher

Bancroft School, an independent day school with 500 students located in Worcester, MA, seeks an Upper School History teacher.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching high school students and at least a Bachelor’s Degree (a Masters Degree is greatly preferred.) The primary responsibility will be teaching 9th grade World History. Although this course will focus on some of the more prominent ancient civilizations, emphasis will also be placed on the global experience and current issues. Additionally the candidate must be able to teach Advanced Placement European History as well.
