Since 1900, Bancroft School has educated young people in the tradition of the liberal arts and sciences. Today our school enrolls some 500 students, Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12, drawn from over 50 communities in Central Massachusetts and MetroWest Boston.
Bancroft has seen many changes in the past century, but our commitment to the needs of each individual student remains the core of what we do. As the Credo written by the faculty and staff proudly proclaims, "we believe in children," and we seek to ensure an experience of excellence for each one of them.
Our mission, which we hope is clearly demonstrated in the words and images on our website, is simple: we strive to work with parents to create a diverse community of good people who are lifelong learners, teachers of others, and citizens of the globe.
At Bancroft, we engage students with a caring, creative, and challenging college-preparatory curriculum and related programs that meet their current and emerging academic and personal needs. We offer a diverse and supportive learning environment in which children thrive. Our success is measured not only through our superb college placement record, but, as importantly, by the contribution of generations of our graduates who have gone forth to make this world a better place.
