Professional Development at Bancroft

Bancroft teachers practice what they preach by participating in a range of professional development activities on and off campus, in the summer, on weekends, and even during the school year. They passionately role model learning for their young charges by taking risks themselves; by constantly exploring cutting-edge applications of technology; by experimenting with state-of-the art pedagogical practices; by participating in workshops on Global Education. Our scientists trace Darwin's route on the Galapagos Islands; our art teachers display digital photographs in galleries; our English teachers take part in workshops with poets and fiction writers; our foreign language teachers travel across the world; our music teachers perform and conduct; our History teachers examine Civil War battlefields; our math teachers go to San Francisco to study the curve of the Golden Gate Bridge's suspension cables. This active commitment to honing professional craft trickles down to help our students reach their own academic and personal potentials. Indeed, lifelong learning represents a cornerstone of the Bancroft community.
