Three Seniors Named as National Merit Finalists

is pleased to announce that three students are among 20 percent of
Bancroft seniors who qualified as Finalists or Commended students in
the 2009 competition for National Merit Scholarships.
Alexander H., Rebecca R., and Benjamin E. were named finalists by being among the
highest scoring entrants in Massachusetts on the 2007 Preliminary
SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. As Finalists, they are
eligible to continue in the competition for 8,200 Merit Scholarships to
be awarded in the spring. More than 1.5 million
students in over 21,000 high schools entered the competition.
Finalists placed among the top one percent of all students taking the
